At Zober Lodge Farm, we produce top quality beef from our herd of Square Meaters cattle. We are committed to natural farming practices, which means our cows are 100% grass fed and free from antibiotics and growth hormones and are never fed grain. We are proud to be part of the Square Meaters breed, which is well known for its lean, juicy, and flavourful meat. As part of our mission to raise awareness of the Square Meaters breed, we provide our customers with information about the breed, our farm, and our practices. And of course, the opportunity to purchase bulk packs of beef at various times of the year when our yearlings are ready.

We offer whole or sides of beef that can be cut up and packed to suit your preferences.

We are located at South Riana on the North West Coast of Tasmania where our cattle are free to roam the pastures.
The farm has numerous dams with an irrigation system that keeps the grass growing most of the year. This means the cattle have access to grass all year round with supplement hay and silage feed - all harvested at Zober Lodge.

Our Story
Clarke's Family Farm

Many years ago, the Clarke's moved to the rural community of South Riana with a home and one acre block, surrounded by family farms. The acre of grass needed careful management so we acquired a hand reared dairy heifer cross. To keep the grass down and to experience that real paddock to plate concept this lovely heifer was aptly named T-Bone.

One morning a year or so later, one cow had turned into 2. The neighbouring farmer (also a Mr Clarke - no relation), explained "Oh, the bull must have jumped the fence". Right, so that's how it worked.
With the increasing herd, and family, more grass was needed so a larger farm was on the horizon.

As it turned out, the farm across the road came up for sale.
And so Zober Lodge was created.

T-Bone moved across the road with her calf called Porterhouse by her side. T-Bone went onto to live a long life producing 13 calves until she "went to live at another farm".

After years of experimenting - chasing Herefords, petting Murray Grey's, and attempting to round up Black Angus, we finally settled on the Australian Cattle Breed, Square Meaters.

We purchased a small herd from Southern Tasmania and over the years of natural increase and purchasing heifers from Victoria, we have a lovely herd of cows that produce calves annually, to the resident hand raised bull, Javid Mystro from Javid Farm in Orange, NSW.
